Humulene

Hops, earthy, appetite-suppressing

Terpene

What is humulene?

Humulene is the terpene that gives hops their earthy, woody beer aroma. It's also found in ginseng, sage, and many cannabis strains, usually alongside caryophyllene.

Effects

Humulene has documented anti-inflammatory properties and shares a structural history with caryophyllene — in fact it was once known as alpha-caryophyllene. What makes it stand out: it's an appetite suppressant. Where much of cannabis is famous for the munchies, humulene-rich strains tend to go the opposite direction — worth knowing if appetite control is part of your goal.
